Overview
Because Bandsintown communicates directly with ActiveCampaign's API, no technical development is required from you. Simply link your ActiveCampaign account credentials in your Bandsintown for Artists dashboard to start automatically sending fan contact details by following the steps below.
To learn more about fan data collected and how consent works, see Collecting Fan Data.
Important: Fan Contact Sync only sends new fan opt-ins collected after the integration is connected. These opt-ins can be collected through the Bandsintown Widget, Smart Link, and Signup Form.
Followers and RSVPs gained through the Bandsintown website or app do not sync.
⚠️ Note: opt-ins collected before connecting can be exported from Bandsintown through Fan Manager and imported into ActiveCampaign.

Important Details
Managing multiple artists: if this ActiveCampaign account is connected to more than one Bandsintown artist, see the section below before setting up your sync.
Managing Multiple Artists on One ActiveCampaign Account
This section applies if this ActiveCampaign account is connected to more than one Bandsintown artist, for example, a management company running several artists through one account. If you only manage one artist on this account, you can skip this.
If more than one Bandsintown artist connects to the same ActiveCampaign account, the Artist Name and Artist ID fields on a contact record will only ever show the most recent opt-in. These are single-value fields, so if the same fan opts into a second artist, the first artist's values are overwritten.
To keep track of which artists a fan has opted into, set up a list and automation per artist. List membership does not get overwritten.

3. Repeat for Each Additional Artist
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for every other artist sharing this ActiveCampaign account, using that artist's own Bandsintown Artist ID and a separate list.
⚠️ Note: Each list shows a "Subscribed" date and time for the contact. Use this as your per-artist opt-in timestamp.
Important: Turn on “Collect Phone Number” in Bandsintown for Artists
The primary goal of the Fan Contact Sync integration is to send your fans’ opt-in information (name, email, location, etc.) from the Bandsintown.
When you use this integration with ActiveCampaign, phone numbers could become particularly important. To include phone numbers in the Fan Contact Sync payload, make sure the Collect Phone Number toggle is turned ON in your Bandsintown for Artists settings.
Once this toggle is enabled, please allow up to 12 hours for the change to propagate across the platform. After that, new opt-ins will start requesting and sending phone numbers from Bandsintown.
SMS consent and compliance
Fans who share their phone numbers through Bandsintown are verified through a double opt-in process and, as of October 2025, include SMS-specific consent language that meets TCPA requirements in all signup flows. This means the data sent to ActiveCampaign is already validated and compliant for text message marketing. For more details, see Collecting Fan Data.
