Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Updated over a week ago

As Bandsintown for Artists continues to add more capabilities for the collection and management of first-party fan data via the Fan Manager and the creation of custom email outreach via the Email Builder, it’s become increasingly important to keep your account secure. That’s why we're encouraging all accounts to enable two-factor authentication. Protect your account by turning on 2FA today.

Once enabled, you’ll be asked to enter a unique code in addition to your password every time you log in. This unique code is generated automatically on the authenticator app and is only known to you.

Follow the steps below to activate 2FA:

  1. Go to My Account » Login

  2. Toggle on the Two-Factor Authentication setting
Note: 2FA is not compatible with Facebook Login. If that's what you use to log in to Bandsintown for Artists, you must activate Email Login first by specifying an email and a password before continuing.

  3. Two options are available to activate Two Factor Authentication.

a) By using an authenticator app

b) by text message. (We strongly recommend the authenticator app option. Please note that the SMS option is only available in some countries, see step 6.)

  1. Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed.

If you don't have one yet, you can download any of these on your smartphone: Authy, Duo, Google Authenticator, iOS authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator. If you cannot use a mobile device, please note that Authy lets you install its desktop authenticator app on your computer (compatible with macOS and Windows operating systems) and also offers a browser extension. Note that all these apps can be used for free.

  2. Enter the unique code provided by your authenticator app to activate 2FA on your account

6. If you want to use the text message option, please select “Text message (SMS)” option and enter your phone number then click on “Send code” to receive a text message code on your phone.

You're all set! Going forward, whenever you log in to Bandsintown for Artists, you will need to enter your password and the unique code from your authenticator app, or sent to you by text message. This ensures no one else but you can access your account.
